24 May 2008:
David Shaver has introduced a new workshop into his schedule: The
Eight Gate Training of Master Jou, Tsung Hwa to be held
7 June, 2008 at Peaceful Wolf Tai Chi Chuan in East Haddam, CT.
Grand Master Jou said that the master key to Taijiquan was to be
able to express the five elements in the legs and the eight gates
in the arms. This principle has been talked about by many mastersover
the years. This thread of training was Master Jou's way of developing
our awareness of these principles and giving us a way to bring them
into expression in whole body movement.
While we bring this training into the Basics Classes, this workshop
will give you the opportunity to learn all the parts of this thread
of training so that you can bring it fully into your practice.
This practice includes: Eight Gate Meditation, Eight Count Walk,
Single Arm Walking, Practice, Double Arm Walking Practice, Eight
Posture Form.
This is a wonderful part of David's curriculum which used to only
be available through his weekly classes. It is now presented in
the half-day workshop on June 7th from 1 to 4 PM
